1 through 40 are important too, but these are my top twelve. (UPDATE: These are mostly the same as in the last two years, with a few tweaks. And of course a new one added!)
So, earlier today, I posted the first 20 reasons I love Salman Khan (not as much as I love Shahrukh, but still quite a bit). Here are another 20, the same 20 as the last 2 years, because I still love him the same.
I am a Shahrukh person, not an Aamir or a Salman person. But I can still appreciate not-Shahrukh stars for the wonderful people they are, even if that person is not my particular person. And Salman is wonderful. Which is what I have said for 3 years running now, and it is still true.
Box Office! Finally, an exciting one! I haven’t even bothered the last few weeks, because there’s just been NOTHING coming out, and nothing to talk about.

Salman is everywhere today! Sometimes actually mentioned, sometimes just implied. I guess that’s fair, it is his Birthday Week after all.
This is a re-posted post, but I don’t have time for a new one because I have to run around and go to Tiger Zinda Hai with my family (I think Salman would approve of both seeing his new movie and the family time). And anyway, I don’t think it is possible to improve on the post I did for his birthday last year.
Happy Tiger Zinda Hai day! Early reports say it is roaring in to the box office. But I don’t necessarily believe them a) because I am a cynic; b) because the per screen international isn’t available yet and that is the only really accurate figure. Anyway, to rev us all up and because it is Salman’s Birthday Week, I thought I would post some of the best Salman songs from the past.
It’s been pointed out that I might appear to undervalue this film and that is why I haven’t spoken much about it. Truly, I don’t undervalue it! It’s just such an unusual film that it doesn’t fit easily with a discussion of anything else. Nothing else is really like it, and therefore available for comparison with it. And it didn’t start a particular trend in filmmaking (beyond the general “Family Films” trend), because it would be so hard to imitate. But yes, I do know about this movie, I know all sorts of things about it and I am aware of it’s place in film history.
This is a post I did last year, and I just pulled it from the archives to repost it and was looking up the first day of winter this year. Do you know it’s the same day EVERY YEAR???? Somehow this blows my mind. I don’t know why. Maybe I need a refresher on how calendars work.
Well, Aamir Khan clearly signed a new deal with Netflix. The odd random collection of films he has produced are now available. Yes, including Delhi Belly and (less importantly) Lagaan. Well this is an interesting batch of news in terms of changing industrial forces! Managers, story rights, all kinds of things that didn’t used to exist and may not necessarily result in a different or superior end product.
At one point, Shahrukh was rumored to be coming. But it looks like they scaled back after Shashi’s death. Which is good, because if Shahrukh had come, I would be SO JEALOUS! What does that baby have that I don’t have? Why would Shahrukh go to his party and not mine?

I really have to update my Netflix list! Kabali was just added, and that is definitely a MUST WATCH. In the meantime, I will just re-post the review I put up after I saw it in theaters. And also because no one is commenting or reading right now (especially Tamil/Telugu reviews), so I have lost the will to write anything new.
I totally forgot I wrote this post, and then some nice Cyrillic using reader posted a link to it on a message board which reminded me of it. And it’s brilliant! I agree with everything I said! And Star Wars is back in the news, so I might as well put it up again for us all to appreciate and discuss.
Trailers! I wake up and there are trailers! How exciting! Let’s see if I can watch and write about them real quick before I have to leave for work.
Poor Salman! Once again getting the short end of the stick. Only 5 days of pre-big movie release celebration. Christmas, and my killer flu, got him all delayed. Oh well, Salman is also super nice, so I am sure he would be fine with my spending my days in bed and/or with relatives instead of celebrating him to the utmost.
