All the headlines are very exciting sounding, Saif rushed to the hospital from a film set, Kareena by his side, Soha issues a statement thanking us for our prayers, etc. etc. And then you hear what the injury was, and it all kind of deflates.
Like 5 different people on my twitter feed re-tweeted the Mirzya trailer this morning, so I thought I better watch it, even though I didn’t know any of the stars. So glad I did!
I was doing my usual morning browse through the news sites for something worth talking about, and I ran across a bigger story than I expected. In the middle of photos from Priyanka’s Paris trip, and a follow-up story about the Udta Punjab piracy case, there was news that a Pakistani Qawwali singer who had worked in the Hindi film industry had been shot and killed while riding in a car in Karachi.
One of these really really doesn’t matter, but the other one kind of does, because it is hiding a story that does. Well, two stories

2 industry news items today! One which is important in general for, like, society. And the other, which is very important for, like, ME!
This story puzzles me. I understand that every movie needs a male and female lead. But if this biopic covers Sanjay’s whole life, how can there possibly be only ONE female lead? That’s not shade at Sanjay, it’s just a fact, he’s had at least 3 significant romances in his life, since that’s how many times he’s been married.
There’s a bunch of random little news stories today about random people, but they all connect in that they show how the public personality and persona that the media wants you to believe doesn’t always match reality.
I think, like myself, the world at large has gotten tired of no new SRK news, now that Fan promotions and IPL are over. So, since he isn’t poking his head out of doors, we are all scavenging around for whatever little scraps may be lying (laying?) around outside.
Karisma Kapoor’s divorce FINALLY went through! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! Oh, also there is a really weird picture of Aamir that just came out.
Udta Punjab is coming out! Yaaaaaaaaay!!! I am so happy! And I know what I will be doing this Friday night!

Okay, so I almost missed Maddy’s birthday this year, but the nice thing is, birthdays come every year, so I can put up a bigger and better post next year. And Ritiesh and Genelia’s new little baby also came along today (that’s his tiny big brother in the header image), so I’m going to make Maddy share with them.

Although I bet the censor board would have a problem with Shakespeare, if they were working in England in the 1500s! All that sexual humor, barely veiled political content, and bad language would NOT fly!
I was alerted to this news story by moviemavengal‘s twitter, feed and it made me so happy! And then to fluff up this post, I found some other random upcoming film news floating about the internet.

I feel so ashamed, I am supposed to be a Shahrukh fan, but this trailer really got to me. But I am going to forgive myself, because Salman is on a real hot streak right now of finding that perfect sweet spot between crowd-pleasing and emotional truth.
It’s IPL now, and Ramadan is starting soon, which means everyone is kind of hunkering down and being quiet. Because there’s no big movie to promote, so why talk? But there are some nice non-movie things happening that are getting a little reportage.
