Well, I seem to have stopped sleeping. Through my own stupidity, so I am also very angry at my past self. Oh well, maybe I can stay up all night tonight and reset my internal clock.

Shahrukh Birthday Month: Shahrukh FanVids
ZiziStreet/ZiziK is sadly no more, which has greatly lowered the number of high quality Shahrukh fanvids in the world. But there are still some good ones! And it’s a nice fun thing to write about and think about for his birthday month.
Shahrukh Month, Shahrukh Story: Why Dard-E-Disco is in My Bathroom and DDLJ is in My Living Room
Another little Shahrukh story! Personal to me, nothing to do with anyone else, but I like putting in these little stories and building a vision of my almost 15 years of fandom.
Monday Malayalam: Spirit, Stopping Your Addiction Doesn’t Mean You Get Back Everything You Have Lost
I did it! I managed to write a Monday Malayalam post after all! I am The Master!!!!! Now we have to see if I manage to write a box office post tomorrow or if that is just too much.
Shahrukh Month Nice Post: Interview Videos (Be Sure to Watch the Last One, if No Others)
A few of us were saying recently how nice we find it to watch Shahrukh interview videos, because he speaks so well and says such nice things. And so I have pulled together a fairly random collection of what I could find on youtube. Feel free to share your favorites in the comments.
Silly Sunday: Fake Marriage Romances, One of the Best Romance Tropes, Featuring Aditya-Anushka, Ranveer-Dips, and SRKajol
Moviemavengal confessed her love for the “fake marriage” romance trope, and it’s one I like quite a bit as well. And it’s pretty rare in Indian film, replaced by “real arranged marriage becomes love” which isn’t quite the same thing. So I shall write a few script suggestions just in case anyone needs any! (oh, and if you want to see one that already exists, check out Love By Square Foot on Netflix)
Shahrukh Month Discussion Post: What Are the One Scenes/Plot Points that Ruined a Shahrukh Movie for You? Or the One Scenes/Plot Points that Made it All Worthwhile?
Thank you Procrastinatrix for the suggestion! And hopefully we can get a nice discussion going, like we did on Thursday for the one Shahrukh movie people really hated.
Shahrukh Birthday Month: My Shahrukh Alter
I think I’ve referred to this in the past, but I’m not sure I’ve ever put up an actual picture. I’m not kidding when I say I have an actual alter to Shahrukh in my apartment.
TGIF: For Shahrukh Month, Best Shahrukh Candid Photos
Why over think it, you know? I’m not coming up with a theme or anything like that, I’m just saying out of all the candid photos I can find, these are the ones I like best. Feel free to disagree and post your own suggestions in the comments. Or to skip this post entirely if you can’t stand his face.
Shahrukh Story: Shahrukh the Invisible Actor
Another little story. Hopefully people like them, I certainly like writing them and thinking about all the little moments that make up Shahrukh in my life.
Shahrukh Month Discussion Post: What Are Your Least Favorite Shahrukh Movies?
This should be fun, for those of us who are SRK lovers. Or even not, so long as you have seen at least 2 Shahrukh movies, you can always have a least favorite.
Hindi Film 101: Dangers and Strengths of Romantic Fantasies, Alpha to Beta to Devdas
Alisa/BollywoodNewbie inspired me in another post, the way she does, by pointing out something I was so lost in that I was blind to it: Indian film plays in to certain specific types of romantic fantasies, types that do not work equally for everybody.
Shahrukh Month Post: Koyla, a Woman With Agency and a Man With No Voice
Yaaay, my first new Shahrukh review for Shahrukh month!!! I love Koyla, I think it is a secretly really deep film with statements on what is marriage and what is choice and so on. And on top of that, is a totally ridiculous and entertaining action movie. Best of everything!
Shahrukh Story for his Birthday Month: The Time Shahrukh Froze Time
Everyone said I should celebrate Shahrukh Month however I wanted, and today I feel like telling stories. Just little moments that help build up the whole picture of my relationship with him (a one-sided relationship, but still a true one).
Silly Sunday: Random Harvest! A completely Ridiculous Plot that is Just Begging to Be Remade in India
I’m exhausted after yesterday, so I’m not coming up with new stories, instead I am lifting a ridiculous plot from a classic Hollywood film/British novel. A plot so ridiculous that it really belongs in India any way, it was wasted in Hollywood.
Shahrukh Month Starts in 3 Days!!!! (low-key)
I put up a post a week or so back asking if I should celebrate this year, and the answer was a resounding “you do whatever makes you happy”. So, okay! I will!
TGIF Repost in Honor of Thugs: Men and Women Emoting With Swords
This is such a good post, totally deserves to be updated and re-used. Especially so we can all prepare to compare these sword emotions with the Thugs sword emotions.
News Round-Up/Hindi Film 101: #MeToo in Hindi Film, From All the Angles, Nawazuddin to Nana to Vikas Bahl and How Anurag Kashyap and Shahrukh Khan React to Them
Still no big big exciting stories, but some interesting things today, worthy of discussion. Some more than others, but all worth reporting.
Votes Needed! Should I Do an SRK Birthday Month, Yes Or No? (Also, remember to register to vote if you are in America)
I need your opinions! I need to make a blog scheduling decision soon and I don’t know what the preference of the readers is. So, get ready to answer a poll! I thought this would be a good day for it since it is also Voter Registration Day in America (REGISTER TO VOTE or CHECK YOUR VOTING STATUS).
Silly Sunday: The Godfather with The Three Khans and Shahrukh as the Hero
Raajneeti, Sarkar, and the original film, I have been on a bit of a Godfather binge (I also rewatched 1 and 2 over the past couple days). So now the inevitable final step, writing my own version.
Silly Sunday Quickie: Recasting/Writing of Stuff Only I Care About, Murder She Wrote, Terry Pratchett and Shahrukh Khan, and Mad Miss Manton
I put up a nice rerun post with all kinds of stories you should actually care about, so now I am going to be indulgent and put up a quick post with only things I care about.
TGIF 2: A Game of 5, Which 5 Husbands Would You Pick?
Last night Meenakshy and I got to talking in the comments over whether I should switch from Prabhas to Siddharth for my Telugu husband, which turned into a discussion of how I get to have a husband for every language, which reminded me of this post.
Sunday Film School Rerun: My Name is Khan, Shahrukh Khan’s Take on Autism, and Activism
This is a very good deep review that did not get many readers or comments the first time around. So this time I gave you a weeks warning, so you could rewatch the film and know when the review is coming. Let’s see how it does this time! I don’t care as much about the views, but I really want to read your comments. It’s an important film to me, and I want to know what other people think about it.
Silly Sunday: All About Eve Remake With Shahrukh Khan! Just Because I Want It
This is almost as indulgent as when I rewrote The Philadelphia Story. Who in this day and age and on an Indian film blog knows the movie All About Eve? To the point of remembering all the details of the characters and themes and stuff? Oh well, it makes me happy, and keeps me tied to me roots (my roots being American movies before 1960 which were what I watched exclusively for the first 18 years of my life). Anyway, Procrastinatrix suggested the idea, so I know she at least will be interested.
TGIF: A Month of Food and Stars and Snark, Enjoy!!!!
This is a continuation of a post I put up on Wednesday. Turns out, almost every day of the month in September has a food attached to it (food lobbyists/publicists have way too much time and money). So then all I had to do was figure out which actor matches the food. I was a wee bit mean on Wednesday, I am feeling less mean today, but we will see if the meanness rises up in me again.
