I’m having an out of sorts day, mostly because I was up way too late last night (Hamilton). So I feel like something cheerful and silly. And I am dragging you all along with me! Oh, and fair warning, when I get sleepy I get MEAN. Or rather, I am always secretly this mean, my filter just doesn’t work as well when I get tired. So be prepared for some not very nice comments about famous people.
More suggestions from you! Suggestions that also turned into reading recommendations for me, fun fun! Oh, and plot ideas for movies I really want to see made, whether the stories are translated out of the sci-fi realm or not.
Reflects on Life was talking about this movie in the Wednesday Watching post and suggested it for a Friday Classic. Which made me realize I hadn’t actually written about it yet. I think it’s one of those Big movies that I was avoiding, ones that are really good, and I also really like and I want to be careful to explain why I like them in a way that makes you like them too, not just appreciate their quality.
I thought the long Shahrukh interview post would give us plenty to talk about, but there aren’t that many comments over there. From which I can only assume, no one loves Shahrukh any more. I am sure he is desperately refreshing the page thinking “surely SOMEONE has something to say about me! Surely it can’t be that no one is interested any more?” Anyway, since you all find Shahrukh boring, I will bring up a new topic for us to talk about.
Well, it’s been a long drought, but now with Zero on the horizon, and Suhana to protect, Shahrukh is finally coming out of his time of silence and has given us one little nice interview to talk over.

I’ve been slowly moving down the face, I’ve down eyes and hair, I considered noses but I don’t know if anyone really wants to stare at those. So I picked lips next and, to make this a little more challenging, it is in the form of a guessing game!
Salman didn’t give us the big family Eid photo, which is fine, it’s not the big big Eid. Although this sounds like a nice one, remembering the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son by sharing food with the needy of your community, your friends, and your family. And it is also a moment for one of my favorite traditions from the Indian film industry, the holiday greetings and messages to the fans from the stars.
Happy News Round-Up Day! There is, as is often the case, very little actual news. But I can still entertain myself by thinking about what is behind the particular kind of fake or empty news stories we are being fed.

Well, it’s the Friday after Independence Day. I should do something patriotic, right? And all I can think of is the Indian colors. Oh well, good enough. My brain is fried after writing my two recent brilliant Hindi Film 101 pieces (read them! They are very good, even if they don’t have sexy photos and star gossip)
Well….I didn’t end up stalled in a cornfield? Or the middle of the highway? Things could be worse! Right?

Okay, prepare yourself for a very very deep cut. This is my absolute favorite LM Montgomery short story. So, not an “Anne” book, and not one of her other lessor series either. And not even from the first short story collection Chronicles of Avonlea, but aaaaallllll the way in Further Chronicles of Avonlea. But it’s SO GOOD!!!! How can I resist I remake? And it is just crying out for Shahrukh.
My sister’s visiting, I’m feeling lazy, and it’s World Elephant Day on Sunday. So that’s as good a reason as any to look at people with elephants, right?

So I am going to be lazy and do a post just for Angie, National Police Day in Poland. Well, Angie and all of us who enjoy attractive movie stars in police uniform.
Rainy rainy rainy here. And, I assume, rainy rainy rainy there too. So heck, I’m gonna do rain stories. And rain makes me feel arty, so they will all be reflective little art movies.
