Happy Day Before Mother’s Day! I was going to write a fanfic of mother stories for tomorrow that aren’t the usual ones, and then I realized a lot of them had already been in films and I had just forgotten. So let’s celebrate those unusual mothers!

Raazi Review (SPOILERS): Patriotism Which Kills the Host
This is an actual excellent film, and a very fun watch. It doesn’t really matter if you know what happens, you can still enjoy watching it play out, but if you like being surprised and having edge of your seat thrills, maybe wait and read the No Spoilers review first, and then this one after you have seen the movie.
Raazi Review (No SPOILERS): Every Country Has Humans
Well, this was a shockingly good movie! I highly highly highly recommend it. Also, I am now in love with Vicky Kaushal.
Upcoming Movies! Parmanu Trailer, Veere Bhangra, Arjun Poster, and Arjun Reddy Starts Filming
4 movies to talk about! In various stages, one a trailer, one a second song, one an announcement, and one starting to film. And I am interested in ALL of them!!!!
TGIF: Wedding Outfits!!!! Pick Your Favorites
Yaaaay! A super fun one inspired by Sonam’s Party of the Century wedding earlier this week. Wedding dresses! Combining both the full formal wedding sari, and the fun reception outfits, so we get two sets of dresses to gaze at.
Friday Classics: Blackmail, Raakhee’s Favorite Role
Happy Friday! Raakhee’s daughter Meghna has a big movie coming out tonight, so I thought it might be fun to go back and look at Raakhee’s biggest role. Or at least, her favorite role.
Silly Friday Discussion Post: What is Your Favorite Fantasy Way to Attend Sonam’s Wedding?
I was going to do a straight up fanfic, but then I realized it is more of a personal fantasy, so the best way would be to handle it more like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” type deal.
Silly Narrowcasting Post Warning! Recasting Brooklyn 99 With Indian Actors, Something NO ONE is Interested In
I already did a very long detailed take down of Bharat Ane Nenu this morning, including an overview of the Indian Constitution and it’s deeper social meaning, I’m exhausted, and I know at least one of you also watches both B99 and Indian film, so I am going to indulge myself with a fun easy recasting post. Plus, the news just broke that B99 was canceled, so the time is ripe for an Indian spin off.
New Youtube Video! Bahubali China Box Office
Circled back around to youtube. Tragically, the dog was sleeping and didn’t poke her head in.
Thursday Telugu: Bharat Ane Nenu (SPOILERS), Has No One Involved Read the Indian Constitution?
You can feel free to read this SPOILERS review, there’s nothing super unexpected in the film that you couldn’t guess from the trailer and the cast list. But DON’T READ THIS IF YOU LIKED THE MOVIE!!! Or do, I don’t know your preferences for film reviews. Just be aware that I kind of hated it.
Sonam Wedding Epilogue! Start Your ‘Ships!
I can’t stop myself! I keep looking at Sonam wedding videos! And, thanks to the latest batch, I now have several competing “ships” that I am rooting for. And I am sharing them with you, in the hope of either getting companions on board the SS Relationship, or else getting a solid common sense mind to drag me off.
News Round-Up: Rishi’s Beard, John’s Money, Salman’s Tuxedos, and Race’s Trailer
I just get a giggle out of today’s news items and can’t resist sharing them. Sometimes celebrity news is very silly! Oh, and some of this stuff is actually interesting too.
Telugu Film 101: Savitri, the Basics
I just ordered possibly the last copy in America of the only English language full biography of Savitri. But it’s shipping from a million miles away, and it looks dauntingly thick, so I have no idea when I will finish reading it. In the meantime, I wanted to put up a post based on the very superficial information I have gathered by reading every single English language article I could find on The Internet about Savitri and her associates.
Wednesday Watching: What Are You Reading and Thinking and Watching This Week? Also, Wedding Questions!
Happy Wednesday! I’m having one of those sleepless weeks. Thank you Sonam’s Wedding/Time Zones! Anyway, half done!
Sonam Wedding Final Update: 2am, Shahrukh and Salman are Both Here, Sonam’s in Her Comfy Clothes, Let’s Get This Party STARTED!!!!!
Those noble souls with cell phone cameras and twitter accounts, they are the real heroes! Making us feel like we are there partying with everyone else. Only, less hot and drunk and vaguely tired.
Sonam Evening Reception: Shahrukh is IN THE HOUSE!!!!!
Finally, an SRK spotting! We were just talking about what a low profile he has had lately. But here he is, looking dashing, and holding hands with Guari. Awwwww! (source for most photos)
Tuesday Telugu: Bharat Ane Nanu (No Spoilers), How Egotistical Do You Have To Be To Take This Part?
I finally saw it! On Sunday, which is why my Sunday fanfics were so late this week. And also why my dog had a mini-freak out over being left alone so long and got into the trash and gave herself a stomach ache. But it was more or less worth it.
Sonam Wedding Part 2: The Big Day! Amitabh is There
More photos! And Ranveer finally makes an appearance. Question, how horrible is it for Dips to be in America at the Met Gala while her boyfriend’s cousin is getting married? Is that like an acceptable thing for a girlfriend to do, pick a work event over a family wedding? If the wedding is just your boyfriend’s cousin?
Box Office: Allu Beats Mahesh, Amitabh Beats Them Both
Welcome back to Box Office! I skipped last week, just because, no real reason. But now I am back! In time for excitement with yet another good Telugu release. (as always, figures courtesy of renttrack by way of Bollywoodhungama)
Sonam Report on Instagram
Well, this is going to be a multi-day thing. I’m exhausted and I’m not even invited. But I do have to do the very important job of judging everyone’s outfits, which is very tiring. Perhaps you all can help me? (oh, and Monday Malayalam is delayed because I had to do this instead. Sorry!)
News Round-Up: Ranbir and Madhuri and John Abraham All Have Movies
News/trailers/posters round-up really. There are some new movies talked about that we should all be aware of and give our opinions of, because I know we all LOVE giving opinions.
Monday Morning Questions Post: What Do You Want to Ask Me The Week Before Mother’s Day?
Happy Monday! I got iced coffee this morning, woot! So much energy! Which I can now expend on answering your questions.
Silly Sunday Bonus! Anushka Love Triangle, You Pick Who She Ends Up With
I already put up a MASSIVE Anushka post and I didn’t want it to be too super super long, so I pulled this one story out. Also, this is the story I need the most help with because I can’t figure out how to end it.
Silly Sunday: Movies For Anushka! Reunion with Ranveer, New Jodi With Ayushmann, and New SRK Movie!
Once again, you did the work for me! At least partially. For Anushka’s birthday, we were talking about who we wanted to see her with in her next movies, and that started me out with thinking about what those movies would be like.
10 Hindi Comedies That Are Funny Even if You Don’t Speak Hindi
This is not an insult to all the many many Hindi film comedy classics that are not on this list! It is just an acknowledgement that humor is a really hard thing to translate, there’s social humor and language humor and all kinds of things that just don’t cross over. But, in my experience, these films for whatever reason do translate well.
