I like the content of this video, but I don’t like my hair quite as much. But content is good! Which is almost as important as appearance 🙂 Oh, and it’s related to this post, but puts in some new info and a slightly different spin.
As you know, if you’ve been following along, I just got a new kitchen cart! And then reorganized my kitchen to take advantage of it. And then cooked chicken, soup, and a pie. So I am very kitchen focused right now.
This is just an American thing, right? We have our American holiday of Thanksgiving, and then as soon as it is over, BAM! Christmas EXPLODES!!!!! Anyway, now we are solidly in the Christmas season, whether you follow the SRKian calendar (as I do, starting my Christmas giveaway as soon as his birthday was over), or the American one.
I love Christmas, and I love Fanvids, but unfortunately it is very rare for the two of them to come together. But I do what i can! And what little I found is all in this post.
Well, the Padmavati issue has taken a slightly different turn, the release is actually delayed. I haven’t seen that with a big Hindi film recently, although I know it has happened before, both in Hindi and other language industries. And the delay and some other comments indicate that this is beginning to move into a different category, politics and violence. Which means you are all going to get mad at me again when I try to address it, and I may lose a few more readers (well, a lot of readers). And get a fair amount of notice by trolls and hate groups (don’t worry, I will block most of them). But I also feel a bit of an obligation to address it. And this is the toned down version, my original post was a lot angrier.
My last review last week, that was the version I wrote for grad school, all about what it means for star studies and the higher level of meaning and blah de blah de blah. But I found the need to write a second review after talking with you in the comments, that is more in my blog style.
I was all nice and daughterly and granddaughterly yesterday, now it’s time to be completely inappropriate and put up my TGIF post! And as a special treat, I am posting it early in the day. It should still keep you entertained all day, since I think this is my longest TGIF post ever. And it also includes a complex and objective rating system, that you can feel free to disagree with, modify, or use for your own ratings in the comments
I could give you an elaborate reason why I felt the need for this post, but there really isn’t one besides “my views are down thanks to Thanksgiving and I want something that will get us all talking”. So, starter kit for male stars!

Sun’s still out, I had a few extra minutes this morning, why not? I also was up way too late last night, so my head-mouth-thinking is not ideal. Look forward to a lot of moments when I get lost in my own head for a second and you can visibly see the wheels spinning as I try to get out of a thought rut. Really, this post is a lot better.
I already wrote a post about how I write, but this is WHY I write like this. Why I always end by adding links and stuff, and start by putting in a few lines before the “read more” pagebreak, and so on and so on? Well, there are reasons for that!
Happy blog-a-versary again! For my first “behind the scenes” look, I thought I would give you an idea of what my process is for writing a post.
Today is officially 2 years since I started blogging! YAAAAAAAY!!!! Congrats to me for having maintained and updated the site so long, and congrats to all of you for reading and commenting and making it such a wonderful place and such a fun experience for me.
Literally the second I fell asleep, poof! This was posted! And I stayed up late last night too! Salman must have a Margaret-tracker that tells him when I fall asleep, and that is when he posts the things.
Did anyone notice I skipped last week? I did! Travel and careful number calculations do not go together well. But now I am home again, and ready to catch up. And maybe even put up a video, if the sun comes out again. (as always numbers courtesy of renttrack by way of bollywoodhungama, full info available here)
I watched it, because I loved Niram so much. And I just don’t love this one as much. It’s nice, it’s sweet, it’s way way better than some of the other Malayalam films I’ve seen from the same era. Or even today! But I don’t love it.
I woke up yesterday and went “hey! What’s that strange brightness out my window? Could it be SUNLIGHT??? For the first time in two weeks?” And then here’s the real miracle, the same thing happened today!!!!!! So I took it as a sign that I should shoot as many videos as possible while I have light. “As many as possible” meaning, one ten minute video in the morning before I leave for the day, only to return when it is already dark.
I put up the No Spoilers review for this back on Saturday, but I wasn’t in a huge hurry to get the spoiler review out. It’s a slow build kind of film, I am guessing interest will be higher on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday than it was on Saturday. Plus, I had to spend 4 hours at church on Sunday and then make two cakes and a pie, so there wasn’t much time for writing.
Happy Thanksgiving week! I get to only work 3 days this week, yaaaaaaaay! And I have Big Plans for the weekend. I’ll tell you mine, then you tell me yours!
I put up a post about the 3 phases of an actress’ career in Hindi film (Starting Out, Established, Married), and then I also put up a post about starter films to get to know actors. And I was puzzling over how to do a post about actresses, since they really don’t have the same kind of massive career backlog as actors, and I thought “Aha! I can combine the two posts!” So that’s what I did, here are some of the top actresses divided into their 3 career eras (or 2, depending). I could have kept going on and on, but I ran out of energy, so I stopped at 7. I’m sure I will be back with more.
The video version of my blog post from yesterday, not much new added to it. Well, you get to see my smiling face, but otherwise not much new.
This is just because I have been watching Cheers and now I can’t get the idea of a remake out of my head. So I had to dig up a few more TV show options as well, just to round out the post. Feel free to give me suggestions in the comments for more I could use if I missed your favorite! Especially since my TV taste trends towards the classic.
