What a fun movie! I don’t totally love it as much as I totally love A Gentleman, but it is in the same family of humor. So I am going to take this moment, once again, to plug A Gentleman. If you like this movie, you will like that one! Oh, and you probably will like this movie. It is very likable.

More news! Going back to my post this morning, it really feels like Padmavat has been holding us hostage for the past 2 months. And now, suddenly freed, there is all kinds of news popping up all over, interesting news.
Well, it finally got approved. And I kind of agree with everything the Censors did. At least, as it is presented by them and the spin they are putting on it. I am sure there are all kinds of political realities on the ground that I am missing which makes them not so great. Oh, and I think we can aaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllll agree that swapping Vaani for Shraddha is a disaster of epic proportions.
I’m continuing to crank through the small time actresses, the ones who only need a few movies to fully understand their careers. Because it’s a lot easier than trying to deal with the male stars and their longer careers, or the handful of super successful actresses (sorry Rani! I’ll get to you someday!) Yay, more rom-coms! 2016 was the year of serious patriotic historical dramas, but 2017 is looking decidedly more romantic. Romantic and dramatic, none of that lightweight stuff like Befikre. Which means I am watching these trailers going “wait, is something terrible going to happen or is this just a humorous misunderstanding?”
Why do they keep releasing songs and trailers at 11am India time? I need my sleep! Last night I decided that it was more important to be awake today for family events round 2 than to stay up until Karan tweeted the new OK Jaanu song.
Well, the Hindi version of the best song from OK Kanmani is now out! And it doesn’t sound as good. It’s true, that thing someone told me years ago, Tamil is a naturally melodious language!
Remember how my whole OK Kanmani review was wondering what they would do with all the Tamil specific stuff that helped build a connection between the characters while they were both exiled in Bombay? Well, this new OK Jaanu song shows the way the new movie might possibly have found a way to do the same. And I am not sure if it works or not, because I am still so stuck in the previous one.
What is with Dharma releasing trailers at midnight my time? I just went through this with ADHM! If it was 3am, I wouldn’t bother. But 11:30 is just on the farthest edge of when I would be awake anyway, so I figure I might as well stay up. Oh well, I’ll have coffee tomorrow! Baaghi! My first Tiger Shroff movie! Well, probably a good number of people’s first Tiger Shroff movie, since it is only his second over all. On the other hand, my 3rd Shraddha Kapoor movie! 4th if you count Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.
