Well, I had a nap, and am feeling a bit less rumpled, but still kind of rumpled. So no rumply discussion (for instance, you should all read Shahrukh’s new tweet and appreciate the subtle statement he is making about patriotism, but we won’t be discussing it here). But I did come up with something real we can talk about! Babies!

Recast My 3 Favorite Raakhee Movies With Me! Married Love Story With Shy Scientist, Double Role Good/Bad Twin, Older Woman Seductress
Have I already fanficed/recast these movies? Eh, don’t care, everything is horrible and will never get better so it doesn’t matter.
Continue readingSaturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Have a Rumpled Day
Happy Saturday! Or, in my case, Grumpy Saturday. I slept terribly last night because I had caffeine late in the day because I was getting a headache because the weather was weird, so yeah, it’s all terrible. Prepare yourself for the grump-grumps.
Continue readingI Am Going to Try to List 5 Good Things About My Foot Recovery
I feel so predictable, but it’s been almost 4 weeks and I am SICK SICK SICK of my stupid foot and the stupid bandages and the stupid boot. I thought I was going to prepare and be smart and not mind at all, but nooooooooo. I’m just like every other patient
Continue readingFriday WatchAlong Main Hoon Na! 3pm Chicago Time Today, Right Here!
Yaaaaaay, a Shahrukh movie!!!!! Genevieve’s pick, so thank her for your happiness.
Continue readingMasaba Masaba Trailer! More Fictional Than Real, and I Like It!
Thank you Kirre! For telling me this was available and making me watch it. And now I have watched it, and it is quite fun.
Continue readingEnding Sridevi Day With The Beginning, Her First Movie Moondru Mudichu
This is really an unbelievable performance. As in, you watch the movie, enjoy the movie, then look it up and discover that it was Sridevi’s first adult role and she was only 13 and go “I don’t believe it”.
Continue readingWatch Main Hoon Na Here in 24 Hours! 3pm Chicago Time!
Thank you Genevieve! For your special farewell Friday Watchalong (stupid parental responsibilities during school year), you have chosen Main Hoon Na, one of everyone’s favorite films, unless they are blackhearted and soulless like Angie.
Continue readingIn Honor of Sridevi’s Birth Anniversary, Who is Your Favorite Working Actress of a Certain Age?
Sridevi! Was a star from 13 to 54, but I want to focus on the last few years. Generally women of a certain age aren’t given good roles, but she came out with Puli, Mom, and English/Vinglish proving that wrong. In her honor, let’s share our favorite actresses of a certain age who are still working and proving their strength.
Continue readingYRF is Leaking News Because They Want Our Opinion on a Potential New Shahrukh Film, What Do We Think?
If Shahrukh doesn’t announce it on his twitter, it’s not definitely happening. So this is not a “this is happening!” post. This is a “let’s talk about the implications of people rumoring this is happening” post.
Continue readingHappy Birthday Sridevi! A Review of Your Final Film, Dark and Strong and Feminist, Mom
I’ve reposted this review a bunch of times, but turns out that I never added on the “no spoiler” part to a repost before. So, yaaaay! Something to read if you are deciding if you want to watch this movie and don’t want to be spoiled! And then spoilers after the SPOILER bar, if you do want to be spoiled.
Continue readingGenevieve! Which Movie Do You Want? Main Hoon Na, Gumrah, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, Saaho
Genevieve may not be able to come to Friday movies after this week because of stupid school and stupid parenting, booo! Just let the kids go feral! We need you! Anyway, it’s Genevieve’s pick this week, I will describe all 4 of these movies and then she can choose.
Continue readingSadak 2 Trailer! Mahesh Bhatt Takes On OSHO
It finally released! And I decided it deserved it’s very own post. Generally looks like a decent movie (Mahesh could make no less), but also some interesting context.
Continue readingWednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to the Day Before Sridevi’s Birthday?
Happy Wednesday! I am sleepy. Two days in a row I have popped away before I wanted to be awake. There must be some alley sound out my window or something that is waking me up. Oh well, this is why coffee exists.
Continue readingHappy Birthday Sara Ali Khan! My Review of Your Performance I Thought Was Brilliant (even if no one else did), Love Aaj Kal 2020
Yep, it’s a good movie! And Karthik and Sara both do wonderful jobs, especially Sara. Once again, Imtiaz’s vision failed to be captured by the trailers.
Continue readingSanjay Dutt is Sick, And I Have a Question About the Response to That
Isn’t it nice of Sanju to give me a topic I can use for this little discussion post? We can even talk about him and other similar stories as examples because they are minimally political. And then we can think good things and be wiser better people, which is what we were put here on earth to do.
Continue readingIn Honor of the 3rd Anniversary of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha: Which of These Movies Would You Erase From Existence If You Could?
I’m not gonna deal with the bigger “message” part of the films, just the minor irritation of all the horrible parts of watching them. Oh, or movies that DCIB would never really love or pay attention to (Manikarnia who?). But of the movies that in theory we might have enjoyed, and which we saw or at least saw the trailers, which of these is worst?
Continue readingWhat Should We Watch on Friday? Sridevi Movie, Shahrukh Movie, Saaho, Love Aaj Kal 2020?
Or none of the above! I know the flavor of the movie I want to watch on Friday, I want one that tastes like silliness and sunshine, and that kind of free feeling of walking down the street and smiling and smelling the asphalt and hearing the traffic go by and swinging your purse. But I don’t know what movie that is.
Continue readingHappiness Post: Match These Animal Pets With the Proper Famous Movie Character
There is no right answer! I am just listing out characters and cute animal photos, I have no pairings already in mind. It is up to you all to figure out who should go with who.
Continue readingDiscussion Post: Mental Health Homework, List 3 Things That Make You Happy Today
UPDATE: This post has been up for 3 hours, and no one has commented. I feel this is a bad sign for our collective ability to be happy. I’m having a moderately hard day today. We didn’t watch Midsomer last night, and I think it has become a vital part of maintaining the careful mental health balance of the household, so now all 3 of us are feeling rumpled. Plus there’s thunderstorms, so the dog is unhappy. I’d go for a walk to get out of the stressful atmosphere, but of course I CAN’T GET OUT OF BED. Anyway, time to count our blessings in a simple effective technique for happiness!
Continue readingMonday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me the Day Before the Sadak 2 Trailer Comes Out?
Happy Monday! I had a lovely weekend, until I got stressy again last night. Hamilton on Disney Plus, great stage filming, very stressful and hyper to watch right before bed.
Continue reading18th Birthday of Mujshe Dosti Karoge!!!! The Movie That Made Us All Fall in Psycho Hrithik
Mujshe Dosti Karoge is turning 18! If it were a person, it would be old enough to vote. But probably shouldn’t vote, because it is by turns bonkers and stupid. Which is, of course, why it is a DCIB favorite.
Continue readingHappy 18th Anniversary of Mujshe Dosti Karoge! To Celebrate, I Have ReWritten It as a Lesbian Love Story Between Kareena and Rani
Truly, gay fanfic is the greatest gift you can give any pop culture item. At least, I think so! And love triangles are so ripe for re-writing. Two girls loving the same boy is so so so so close to two girls sublimating their desire for each other by pretending to love the same boy.
Continue readingHappy 7th Anniversary of Chennai Express! I Quite Quite Like This Movie
It’s also Mahesh Babu’s birthday, so I put up a review of a movie I disliked for him. Now to balance, a review of a movie I liked!
Continue readingHappy Birthday Mahesh Babu! Here is a Review of a Movie of Yours I Quite Quite Disliked, Bharat Ane Nenu
Seems a mean way to start off his birthday, but I feel like Mahesh perhaps needs some help coming down to earth. So this is the most loving thing I can give him. Also, a loving birthday gift for us all, the “Margaret hates this movie” reviews are always fun reads, and you don’t have to worry about being spoiled because you won’t be watching it anyway!
