Force 2 is coming out, which finally got me to go back and watch the first one. I remember there was a lot of buzz about a “whole other kind of John Abraham movie”, and I remember really liking the songs. And then I remember learning about the plot and deciding that I didn’t want to see it after all.

Perspective on ADHM from Delhi
This is my favorite kind of post, the “Ha! I am a GENIUS who is always right!” kind of post. A couple of days ago when the COEAI group announced they might be considering a ban, I put together the little scraps of information and deduced a variety of things. And they are all true! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!
Happy Dussehra!!!
I already put up the posts for the more important (to this site) holiday for the day, Amitabh’s birthday!!! But now it’s time for the less important post, celebrating the victory of good over evil, blah blah blah.
Happy Birthday Amitabh!!! Finale!!! (Part 3)
Happy Birthday Amitabh! (Part 2)
Happy Birthday again Amitji! I already posted reasons 1-25 that I love you, now here are reasons 26-50. (50 to 74 here)
Befikre Trailer: I Hate to Say It, But I Don’t Know If I Like It
Feel free to disagree! But my reaction, after watching it, is that it is trying so hard to be “different” from the regular Indian films, that it ended up being exactly the same as a million other western films. Most obviously the French movie Love Me If You Dare (I haven’t seen it, but it was fairly successful and widely reviewed and talked about when it first came out).
Happy Birthday Amitji!!! (Part 1)

Monday Morning Questions! 2 Weeks Worth!
Bad News and Baby News
Lots of not-so-happy news items today, but also a baby! So if you slog through the less happy parts of the post, I will reward you with a baby at the end!
Happy Birthday Rekhaji!!!
As always, one day before Amitabh. I’m going to get super lame and cheesy for a second, and make a bad joke: right from the beginning, she’s been chasing after him. And now, to make up for it, I’m going to try to come up with 12 reasons to love her for her birthday (I briefly considered 62, but then I’d end up reusing a bunch for Amitabh tomorrow).

Mirzya Review (SPOILERS!!!!): Yep, This is the Legend of Mirzya-Sahiban All Right!
Really, not many surprises here. The broad strokes are all familiar. Which is a good thing, stories become legends because they are powerful, why mess with something that works?
Fathers in Public and Private
So interesting what is considered “good” public image for fathers versus what they might do in private. And how, sometimes, they just don’t care about public image. And sometimes they have to care. And sometimes they pretend they don’t, but really do, which bothers me.

Salman is Rich, and Might Get Richer!
Newest tax reports are out, and as of right now, Salman is paying the highest estimated taxes of the film industry. And it might be even higher, because he is suing for a looooooooooot of money from a TV channel.
Mirzya Review (NO SPOILERS!): Like Fitoor, But Good
Fitoor is certainly the biggest flop of 2016 for the Hindi industry, if not of all time, and may have actually brought about the downfall of an entire studio. So it seems insulting to compare another film to it, but I didn’t actually mean it as an insult. Well, not an insult to Mirzya. I always mean to insult Fitoor, because that is a terrible terrible movie.
Update on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil/Raees Release Challenges
Interesting developments! Still no word from the Cinema Owners association on their decision, which is the real make or break part of it, but some news from other groups.
Happy Birthday Gauri Khan and Milkha Singh!!!!
This is an exhausting weekend! I have my conference, and then Rekhaji’s birthday, and then Amitabh’s birthday, and also Dussehra. You are going to get to sick of event posts! So I am just going to do a quick fun one for Milkha and Gauri.
Fawad Khan (and Mahira Khan) Issues a Statement
With all of this Ae Dil Hai Mushkil back and forth, one person has been remarkably silent, Fawad Khan himself. Moviemavengal just tweeted me a link (you should follow her on twitter, she is much better than me about tweeting news updates) to his Facebook post on the topic.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (SPOILERS!!!): The Ending Felt More Crowd Service Than Triumphal
Okay, the first half felt like it had a very clear and defined message about working hard and pursuing excellence for its own sake, with no hope of reward. And then the second half just felt all meh and mushy. And it’s when the romance was suddenly shoved in with seemingly little connection to the rest of the film. (first half summary here)
