This is inspired by the fanvid post I put up earlier today with a gabillion Hrithik videos, which just reminded me how many different varying shades of Hrithik there are. It’s a bit like learning to appreciate fine wine, at first it all tastes the same, but as your palate deepens, they become very different from each other.

Happy Wednesday! Halfway through the work week, and it has been work this week! We’ve got a new client who is calling for help constantly, forcing me to actually do work while at work. Very frustrating, when obviously blogging is far more important.
I have been avoiding this movie because I have a complicated relationship with Kamal (like him as an actor, don’t like him as a writer), and I was afraid I would hate it and then you would all be mad at me. But turns out, I liked it!
Happy Tuesday! The box office figures for this week released early, so I already wrote about them, which gives me an opening in the schedule to do a news round-up. What fun!
I just randomly felt like writing about this movie. I’ve been avoiding it, because this is one that is really close to my heart and I know it isn’t close to the heart of most people, which is going to be heard for me to take when you comment. But then on the other hand, I should write about it for that very reason, so you can understand what I am thinking, and I can understand what you are thinking. And anyway, it’s Autism Pride Day today, and it was Eid a couple of days ago, so it seems like the perfect time. Plus, I am planning to cover Vishwaroop tomorrow and the two kind of go together.
Yes, that is a click bait title. I’m not even sorry. Because, it’s true! It did really terrible box office, for a major release, especially compared with the other films that are in week 3 and 6. (as always, figures from bollywoodhungama courtesy of renttrack)
It is extremely hot today. I am looking at my poor wilted flowers on the windsill in my office and feeling even more wilted than they look. And also a wee bit worried about Dog Hazel who is all alone all day in my third floor apartment. I left the a/c on for her, but it’s not really enough. And what if the power goes out or something? Poor little hot doggie!
I’m seeing Salman Khan live! And more importantly PRABHUDEVA!!!!!! And Katrina and Jacqueline and I think 3 other people I don’t care about. Anyway, help me run out the clock until this magic moment!
Welp, I finally figured out how I could use instagram. It only takes like half an hour per image (find the image, find a quote, add the quote to the image, email it to myself, open it on my phone, load it from my phone, add caption, DONE!!!!)
I’ll be keeping an eye out and seeing if this actually gains me any new readers, or if it runs into the same issue I have with other sites like this, that no one is willing to click out of the site to go somewhere else on the internet so all it does is gain the site traffic.
Anyway, please share, repost, whatever it is people do on instagram. And feel free to make similar image posts yourself if you want, the point is just to get a DCIB quote out there with the website address attached.
Happy Father’s Day! I already reposted last year’s post, which was hideously in depth. And today I am busy giving the church service AND organizing food for coffee hour AND spending time with Dad and Grandpa. So for new content, one line plot ideas. Vote for your favorite! Happy Father’s Day! This is a repost from last year, but it is very long and worth rereading. And also very very good, I forgot how good this one was! There’s Rana and Shahrukh fighting in wet shirts, Ranbir and Sonakshi falling in love, Varun Dhawan and a baby, all kinds of good things. Also, it’s a Father’s Day Multiverse and all the stories are connected. And anyway, I am spending 6 hours at church today (service plus organizing coffee hour plus meeting), so I earned a rerun.
A day filled with reviews! Both Race 3 reviews are done now, so I can circle back and finish the SPOILER review for Lust Stories. However, I would encourage you NOT to read this until you watch the Netflix series. Partly because the films are so open to interpretation, they deserve to be watched with fresh eyes and your own decisions made about them. Instead, just read my No Spoilers review and then come back here.
The first time I put up one of these, I headlined it “want me to keep blogging?” which freaked people out that I might be considering not continuing. I wasn’t them, but I am now, because I am off track of my 5 year plan, and I’ve only got 29 months to make up time.
I’m back! I already put up the No Spoilers review which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the film. The plot is a total mess, so knowing spoilers won’t really change anything. This review is probably more helpful for people who have seen the film and are confused (as I was), than for people curious what the film is about. Bottomline is, it’s about nothing!
Another review and another movie! I am being so productive this weekend. And this was a very different movie from Race 3.
Watched it! With an Eid audience, which was super fun. We were very under dressed, but we got to admire everyone else’s nice clothes.

I did a TON of research on this. And turns out there is no such thing as a “Pathani suit”. there are various specific things that it could be, traditional garb in the North Indian/Pakistani cultures, but what is generally called “Pathani” is really just loose Salwar and a very long Kameez.
Good news! I found a post I did for Eid last year, so I can join in the celebrations after all. Better late than never. As I said last year, I am 95% sure all these songs are appropriate. But if a miss-translated a lyric or something, and one of them is more secular than religious, let me know right away so I can pull it out of a post where it doesn’t belong.
Thanks to a conversation in the comments with Alicia/Bollywood Newbie, I went back and watched this movie again, and it is sooooooooooooo much cuter than I remembered. Really just adorable. Oh, and also kind of unique and groundbreaking in the sort of story it tells.

It’s not the greatest film, so that is a decent possibility and I won’t judge you if that is your decision.
