Yaaay! Everyone dressed up so FANCY!!!! And everyone came!!!!! Or at least, lots and lots of people came. (most of this photos are from Times of India, link here)

DeepVeer Wedding Photos!!! Shockingly, They Look Beautiful and Happy and In Love
I don’t know why we were/are all so obsessed with this. What did we think was going to happen? The photos would release and they would be, like, nude or in a slap fight or something?
The Deepika-Ranveer Story! In Honor of Their Wedding, All the Different Ways They Reached the Same Place
I was going to make this a “Hindi Film 101” and then I thought “no, I don’t want to think that much or go so far in depth, I’ll just make this fun”. So, FUN!!! Be ready for that!
Hindi Film 101: Social life in the Hindi Industry, Why Weddings Are Important
This is inspired largely by the first two episodes of this season of Koffee with Karan, both of which put together two stars (Deepika and Alia and Ranveer and Akshay) who never co-starred together and aren’t known as best friends, and yet had surprising connections.
Monday Classic: Band Baaja Baarat, the First of the New Wave of YRF Movies
Here’s a random review! Shahrukh’s birthday/Diwali is not a good time to also have a series of work disasters. So I am writing a review of an interesting movie that I watched ages ago and I know other people are really eager to discuss.
Katching up with Koffee: Ranveer and Akshay, Surprisingly Fun!
I love Koffee season. And this was another great episode, I didn’t think Ranveer and Akshay would work well (and there were a few draggy parts), but they turned out to have great chemistry!
Koffee With Karan: Episode 1, Alia and Dips and a Surprise SRK
I love you us.hotstar.com!!!!!! I think I may have been able to watch this even before the India broadcast? Anyway, get a hotstar subscription, all you people reading this! It’s worth it!
Silly Sunday: Fake Marriage Romances, One of the Best Romance Tropes, Featuring Aditya-Anushka, Ranveer-Dips, and SRKajol
Moviemavengal confessed her love for the “fake marriage” romance trope, and it’s one I like quite a bit as well. And it’s pretty rare in Indian film, replaced by “real arranged marriage becomes love” which isn’t quite the same thing. So I shall write a few script suggestions just in case anyone needs any! (oh, and if you want to see one that already exists, check out Love By Square Foot on Netflix)
Sunday ReRun: Befikre, A Light Happy French Romance With an Indian Accent
No big massive full summary coming for Befikre! Partly because Dear Zindagi exhausted me, partly because my sense is that my commentators aren’t as interested in a massive discussion of this movie, as they are of other movies. But mostly because I don’t think it is analyzable, to take it apart would be to destroy it.
Watch This Video and Tell Me I’m Not Crazy!!!!!
I put up this video as part of my Friendship Day post, and it got no comments, which makes me think either no one watched it, or it isn’t as remarkable as it feels to me. And I am going slowly insane trying to figure out which it is. Please! Watch and comment and tell me I’m not crazy!
TGIF: Inspired By Suhana, Best/Worst Magazine Covers
Kind of surprised I haven’t done this already. Oh well, we are here now! I don’t promise a comprehensive overview, but I am going to pick out the most strikingly different covers I can find.
Silly Sunday: Father’s Day! Father Plots For Everyone, Pick Your Favorite
Happy Father’s Day! This is a repost from last year, but it is very long and worth rereading. And also very very good, I forgot how good this one was! There’s Rana and Shahrukh fighting in wet shirts, Ranbir and Sonakshi falling in love, Varun Dhawan and a baby, all kinds of good things. Also, it’s a Father’s Day Multiverse and all the stories are connected. And anyway, I am spending 6 hours at church today (service plus organizing coffee hour plus meeting), so I earned a rerun.
TGIW: Dhoti Men, Because My Boss is Out of the Office Today
My boss is gone today which means I can look at photos on my computer without fear of being observed and judged. Well, my co-workers might judge me, but whatever, I don’t care what they think. And I was just talking with Meenakshy about who looks good in a Dhoti, so why not do a Dhoti post? Similar too but different from my previous Lungi post. (for the purposes of this post, “Dhoti” means any single cloth that is used as a wrap skirt by an Indian man)
Silly Sunday: Female Friendship Vengeance Story, Inspired by Alia and Ranbir and Kat
Happy Sunday! I wrote soooooooooooooooo much yesterday, and like good high quality stuff, reviews of Bhavesh Joshi and Veere Di Wedding. So this morning, I get to write short total trash, in a nice change of pace. Let’s pretend the world is a bad romance novel of the Judith Kranz type and rewrite reality!
Silly Narrowcasting Post Warning! Recasting Brooklyn 99 With Indian Actors, Something NO ONE is Interested In
I already did a very long detailed take down of Bharat Ane Nenu this morning, including an overview of the Indian Constitution and it’s deeper social meaning, I’m exhausted, and I know at least one of you also watches both B99 and Indian film, so I am going to indulge myself with a fun easy recasting post. Plus, the news just broke that B99 was canceled, so the time is ripe for an Indian spin off.
Sonam Wedding Final Update: 2am, Shahrukh and Salman are Both Here, Sonam’s in Her Comfy Clothes, Let’s Get This Party STARTED!!!!!
Those noble souls with cell phone cameras and twitter accounts, they are the real heroes! Making us feel like we are there partying with everyone else. Only, less hot and drunk and vaguely tired.
Sonam Wedding Part 2: The Big Day! Amitabh is There
More photos! And Ranveer finally makes an appearance. Question, how horrible is it for Dips to be in America at the Met Gala while her boyfriend’s cousin is getting married? Is that like an acceptable thing for a girlfriend to do, pick a work event over a family wedding? If the wedding is just your boyfriend’s cousin?
Silly Sunday Bonus! Anushka Love Triangle, You Pick Who She Ends Up With
I already put up a MASSIVE Anushka post and I didn’t want it to be too super super long, so I pulled this one story out. Also, this is the story I need the most help with because I can’t figure out how to end it.
Silly Sunday: Movies For Anushka! Reunion with Ranveer, New Jodi With Ayushmann, and New SRK Movie!
Once again, you did the work for me! At least partially. For Anushka’s birthday, we were talking about who we wanted to see her with in her next movies, and that started me out with thinking about what those movies would be like.
Shahid Day Again! His Newest Picture
I’m not going to repost the whole 3 part Padmavat summary review, that would be INSANE. Instead I am going to repost the much shorter no spoilers review.
Dil Dhadakne Do: Aamir Khan is a Dog
But you didn’t think this post would show up on Aamir Day! But it is, he has more dialogue than anyone else, so why not?
Upcoming Movies: The Next Film of Amitabh, Rajinikanth, Ranveer, and Dhanush
Lots of first looks! Which are always kind of “how is this news?” but sometimes slightly interesting. These were slightly interesting ones.
Dil Dhadakne Do: A Family Film
Here’s a random post. There’s a big thought provoking scary hard important post coming tomorrow morning, but I wanted one more nice film discussion post first. And Angie reminded me that I had still not written about this film.
News Round-Up Part 2: Ranveer and YRF, Aanand L Rai and Rajkumar Santoshi, Aditya Chopra and Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham and Release Dates, Sui Dhaaga and Valentine’s Day, Sanjay Dutt and Scandal
News round-up part two! Which I wrote at the same time as part one, but I wanted to post them separately so you didn’t have to dig through the comments to find the topic you were interested in. You can comment here on these stories, and on the other post on the other stories.
Padmavat Full Summary (SPOILERS) Part 3: A Lot of Filler, and then a Bad Life Lesson
Next part! I think I am on the downward stretch now. Partly because there is an awful lot of what feels like “filler” starting with this section. So I can skip all kinds of things, or at least only deal with them briefly. (full index of Padmavat here)
