I did top 11 movies a couple days ago, I’m going to go slightly different today, and do top nine performances. Even if the movie as a whole doesn’t hold together, or even if it is so brilliant all around you never noticed what Shahrukh was doing, here are his greatest performances as an actor.
So much more excited about the Dear Zindagi trailer! Partly because it is just the second one, whereas ADHM is now on, what, the 513th trailer? Remember how excited I was back when there were just a couple ADHM trailers? Yeah, that’s worn off by now.
For the 16th I did song videos, for the 15th I did fan videos, for the 14th I did photos, and yesterday for the 13th I did unlucky sad facts. Today, to balance that, 12 happy facts!
This ADHM news has me depressed, so I thought I would throw in some nice happy news items. Well, “news” items.
Kind of a downer topic, I know. But I felt like there should be some actual content, not just happy videos and pictures!
I’ve down my 16 favorite videos, and my 15 favorite fanvideos. How about 14 favorite photos? That seems reasonable, right? It’s just now hitting me that I have committed to coming up with a new thing to countdown every day. This is going to be harder than I thought!

Today Dear Zindagi got it’s first poster, and Befikre got its 3rd trailer. How is this thusness? Dear Zindagi is coming out 3 weeks before Befikre!!!!
For today, the 16th day before the magical moment when it will be a full 51 years since Shahrukh was brought forth unto this world, my 16 most favorite Shahrukh song videos!
I always feel bad about how the resolution to things is usually not reported. There’s the initial exciting incident or court case or rumor, and then months later when it is actually resolved, nobody pays attention because they have moved on to a new rumor or incident or whatever. So today I am going to try to fix that and report 3 separate resolutions to old stories.
I said “historic monument” as a joke about Mannat, but that’s actually what the controversy is about! Mannat’s historic status.
I am celebrating by NOT having coffee! Because it’s Thursday, and I never have coffee on Thursdays. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, yes. And then I detox for two days, sleep all weekend, and get back on the horse again on Monday. Anyway, I thought it would be a good topic for a theme songs post.
I put up a post earlier today about the new Mirzya trailer and how it reminded me of “Jaati Hoon Main”. Which just got me in the mood to watch more SRKajol videos!
Yes, I am going to do a post for every Mirzya song video. Because they are all SO GOOD!!! Much better than the movie as a whole will be, I am sure.
A news item from Times of India! I am shocked! Usually they are far behind on the news, or far ahead (a nice way of saying “reporting unverified gossip”). But this time they scooped Bollywoodhungama on a big story!
And so is his father! And also a bit of a tech nerd, have you noticed that since he discovered instagram, Shahrukh has been posting a lot of videos that are kind of like the ones your dorky uncle posts after his son shows him how to use the video tools? But more interesting, because it’s a movie star.
I thought we should start the week out on a light note, so two nice light stories.

These two things have nothing in common, don’t even try to find a connection. But moviemavengal tweeted me about Dulquer’s gift to his Dad, and another commentator pointed out that it was Mammootty’s birthday today and now I feel bad for not acknowledging it at all. Although I did happen to post my Jagratha review today, so that’s cool!
Today it’s a bunch of stories that might someday turn into real stories, but right now are just little story seedlings.
I mostly watched Dhanak, because the one sentence description made me think it would be a good Shahrukh fan watch. And it was, certainly. He comes off very well in it. But most of the movie is just about the two small children we are following, and their performances are so delightful, that’s what really makes the film. If you have access to American Netflix, it is streaming now, and I highly recommend it.
My post earlier today about the new Lux ad Shahrukh is in got me thinking about all those wonderful star ads we don’t get in America. Well, unless you spring for the India package on cable (Someday!!!).
