Oops, I almost missed this! It’s Varun Dhawan’s birthday! And I know that TJ Stevens in the comments will be mad at me if I ignore it. Especially since it is a big one, 30!

Happy Birthday Chetan Bhagat! A Dozen Reasons I Love You!
I think Chetan has earned his birthday post on my film blog, don’t you? He’s about to have his 4th big budget big deal movie made off of one of his books. And according to his wikipedia, he wrote the screenplay for Kick (although that’s a remake, so I don’t know how much there was to writing the screenplay, probably just putting in some Hindi dialogue). But he isn’t a “real” film person, so I am not going to do a full 43 reasons, just leave it at a dozen.
Happy Birthday Jayaji! 15 Reasons I Love You!
Happy Birthday Jaya!!!! I’m not doing a full 69 reasons I love you, because I am lazy, but I can’t just leave it at a dozen. So let’s say 15, for the age you were at your first big film role.
Happy Birthday Prabhudeva! 44 Reasons I Love You
Woo-hoo! Prabhudeva’s birthday! 44 reasons to love him, and an excuse to post A LOT of Prabhudeva songs! And maybe a few facts scattered in. But not many. (I know you may not have time to watch all the videos I put in this posts, but some of these are truly not to be missed, so the ones in bold you MUST WATCH!!!)
Happy Birthday Akshaye Khanna! Better Late Than Never
If I say it’s been crazy busy at work lately, will that excuse me missing Akshaye’s birthday? Or is that a weak excuse? I was tempted to just ignore it entirely, but then I found the time and I thought “better late than never”. So, here are 12 reasons I love him, plus one extra to make up for being late! And they are mostly performances, because he is a very private person.
Happy Birthday Emraan! My Favorite of the Imran/Emraans!
(This is an updated and reposted post from last year) If you’d asked me 9 years ago when Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na came out, I never would have said that Emraan would be my favorite Imraan/Emraan. But today, oh my goodness! He has beaten his homonym by a mile! And today he is 38 and still going strong! Here are 38 separate reasons I love him (yes, most of them are videos).
(Also, that photo up top makes me crack up)
Happy Birthday Rani! 39 Reasons I Love You!
Shashi a couple days ago, Rani today (in India, another 10 hours in America)! Are they related? I’m sure they are, probably through some obscure marriage somewhere. If nothing else they are related through Ranbir and Ayan’s friendship, which is as close as a marriage. Anyway, Happy Birthday Rani! I couldn’t manage a full 79 reasons to love Shashi, but I can come up with a whole 39 reasons to love you!
Happy Birthday Shashiji! The BEST Kapoor! 12 Reasons I Love You
79 years old today! Which in my family is super young (Grandpa’s turning 96 this year), but for the Kapoors is pretty old! A reward for clean living, and general niceness. Shashi is clearly the “best” Kapoor. And so he gets a full dozen reasons I love him.
Happy Birthday Alia Bhatt! 24 reasons I Love You!
So weird that Alia is 24 today! When I was 24, I had just lost my 3rd post-college job and started working minimum wage in a movie theater. Which is kind of like being a major movie star I guess? At least we were both making money of the film industry. Except I had more popcorn smell that never gets out of your hair, and she has more glamorous premieres.
Happy Birthday Aamir! The Top 12 Reasons I Love You!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AAMIR! I Am Glad You Were Born! Here Are Another 20 Reasons Why! (Part 2)
I already re-posted my first 20 reasons from last year, here are another 20. And then my final post will have 12, to get us all the way to 52, the age he is today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AAMIR! 52 Reasons I Love You (Part 1)
Aaaa! I totally forgot Aamir’s birthday! Luckily, I made a big fuss last year, so I can just update and re-post those posts. It’s still not as much as I did for Shahrukh and Salman, but he is just going to have to be mature and life with that.
Happy Birthday Shahid Kapoor! 22 Reasons I Love You
Happy Birthday Shahid! To celebrate, 22 reasons I love you, one for every year you were old when you got your big launch.
Happy 41st Birthday Abhi Baby!!!
A bit odd calling a 41 year old “baby”, but it is my favorite of his many nicknames, so I am sticking with it!
Read below for the 16 reasons I love him.

Box Office Update: Raees Breaks the International Box Office in Order to Re-form It
Global figures are out! Actually they were out on Monday, but I forgot to check. It’s been so long since I cared about figures! Because we had weeks of “Dangal does awesome, not really news” and then “OK Jaanu does terrible, still not really news.” But now, news! The first week of Raees and Kaabil, how did they do? (figures, as always, come from Rentrack by way of Bollywoodhungama)
Happy Birthday Javed Akhtar! Every word out of your mouth is poetry!
It’s Javed Akhtar’s birthday today and I love him, both as a scriptwriter and a lyricist. I could easily come up with 71 reasons, but about half of them would just be quotes from Sholay and Deewar. So I am going to try to limit myself to 25, one for every film he wrote with Salim Khan, plus a bonus just for being him. And I’m going to include quotes from his Salim-Javed films, because although they were both credited, it’s generally believed that Javed wrote more of the dialogue.
(This is an updated and re-posted post from last year)
Happy Birthday Sidharth!
It’s Sidharth Malhotra’s birthday! I know, because Karan tweeted him wishes. Seems like I should be able to do at least as much as Karan for Sidharth. I’m not going to do a full 32 reasons I love you, but I will shoot for at least a dozen.
Happy Birthday Hrithik! 26 Reasons I love you
Happy 43rd Birthday Hrithik! This is an UPDATED post from last year, last year I did 15 reasons for the number of years since you were launched, this year I am doing 26 for your age when you were launched. And maybe this year I can resist posting that photo of you as a teenager with the Khans. (Spoiler: Most of my reasons are dances)

Happy Birthday Salman! Here are the most important reasons I love you!
1 through 40 are important too, but these are my top eleven. (UPDATE: These are mostly the same as in 2015, with a few tweaks. And of course a new one added!)
Happy Birthday Salman Khan!!! You are 51, but still the Youngest of the Khans!!!
So, earlier today, I posted the first 20 reasons I love Salman Khan (not as much as I love Shahrukh, but still quite a bit). Here are another 20. (UPDATE: This is the post I put up in 2015, but it’s still true today! I’ve just cleaned it up a little)
Happy Birthday Salman!!! You’re not my favorite star, but I still love you!!!
I am a Shahrukh person, not an Aamir or a Salman person. But I can still appreciate not-Shahrukh stars for the wonderful people they are, even if that person is not my particular person. And Salman is wonderful. (This is what I said last year for his 50th birthday, and it is still true today on his 51st!)
Happy Birthday Salman! The Biggest Reasons I am Glad You Were Born!
What, just because it’s Jesus’ Birthday too, you thought I would skip Salman today? No! If I didn’t skip Anil yesterday, I’m not skipping Salman now!
Happy Birthday Salman! Here Are My Favorite of Your Jodis!
The celebration continues! I’ve done hair (very important) and film performances, now it’s time for film partnerships! One of the things I love about Salman is how he is willing to step back and let his co-stars shine if it is better for the narrative. And so he has helped to create one half of some all time great “jodi”s.
Happy Birthday Anil Kapoor!
Wait, did you think in all the preparation for Salman I would have forgotten him? Never! Oh, and also Christmas. But even Jesus’ birthday can’t distract me from celebrating Anil! 57 today, and I am doing 25 reasons I love him, for the age he was when he got married.
Happy Birthday Salman! Best Performances!
Again, these are the best performances of those I have seen. Just like the last post was the best hair from the looks I knew. I haven’t actually seen every Salman film. But I have seen a lot of them! And of the ones I have seen, these are my top 5 performances.
