Have you noticed I’ve been doing slightly more of those “this is my life in song form” posts? It’s partly because my fall is getting busier and busier and there are some days when all I have time to do is tell you all what I have been doing instead of blogging. And partly because I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now and I feel like you are all my friends, so why not tell you about my life? Anyway, if you are bored by these posts, just skip to the end for the streaming news you should know.
3 random disconnected posts, one that is just to assuage my guilt for always being mean to Akshay, the other that came up in the comments from Karthik (congrats Karthik! Your first fanfic suggestion!), and the 3rd was something I said as a joke in the TGIF post but now I kind of want to do it for real.
One of my greatest personal flaws is an inability to promote myself in any way (including to my own family and friends, half of whom are unaware that I even write this blog). Which means I am throwing myself on your mercy and asking you to help me promote myself.
So, here’s your monthly reminder that I have no money or time for promoting myself so, if you think more people should be reading this blog, I need your help to make that happen.

I used to do news posts all the time, remember? The problem is, I can only provide legitimate commentary if I am constantly on top of things. And I just ran out of time to check 3 different news sources everyday and be that aware of every little thing. So the only news posts I can do are boring factual ones, and then you guys have to provide the commentary in the comments. (this post comes to you from a Wisconsin public library, turns out I can’t resist blogging even while out of town)
This is the last warm weekend of the year here, my family’s lake place is available, I am driving up with friends and will be blog free all day! Well, kind of blog free, I probably won’t be able to resist checking the comments on my phone.
I am trying to be pragmatic, and also to remember that I have new readers occasionally, and therefore putting up a monthly little reminder that there are ways to give me money if you feel like giving me money.

Something a bit different, this could easily be a blog post but it would be a long boring one, and I would probably get angry comments on it. So instead, a video! Which will either be completely ignored, or I will get angry comments on youtube, but I don’t care as much about youtube people.
When we were little little girls, our grandmother brainwashed all 5 of us to believe to the depths of our souls “engineers make the best husbands” (guess what my grandfather, father, and brother-in-law all do?). And so I can’t ignore this holiday!
And now we reach the era that the majority of us are actually aware of! Yaaaaay! Which is also why this is the shortest post, because I didn’t feel the need to give nearly as much background. Feel free to take off in the comments with your on details for these films, if you want.

I’m still trying to get back in the swing of “normal” posting after the whole Jab Harry Met Sejal massive month long series. Technically I don’t “owe” another review right now, I’ve done my Malayalam and Tamil/Telugu for the week, my DDLJ (yes, I am finally back to DDLJ) will be going up sometime tomorrow, Hindi Film 101 is happening like usual on Thursday, but it just doesn’t feel like enough! So, here, have a bonus tiny review of a silly silly loveable movie.
Mostly the same content as in this post, but in an easily digestible video format. Plus, you get to watch me do my hair and see another part of my apartment! Not for any particular reason, I was just running late this morning so I had to combine activities.

Grandpa turns 96 today! We are celebrating with a small dinner at a nice restaurant with just the 4 of us (Mom, Dad, me, and Grandpa). We had a whole big family thing last year for 95, but this year we get to be more lowkey. However, I do feel like I should do SOMETHING, and so I am getting him this lovely blog post. That he will probably not read. But oh well, I know it’s there.
Supposedly! That is, rumor has it Nivin’s film is FINALLY releasing in the US this week. Fingers crossed! And while I wait for the official confirmation by way of posted showtimes, you can distract me with questions!
