It’s Amitabh’s Birthday!!!!! The second most glorious day of the filmic year (after November 2nd, I do have my priorities). And, of course, for Amitabh, I will be doing a full 75 reasons to love him. (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Okay, let’s do this! Tuesday Tamil! Actually on Tuesday! My box office post is still going to be late this week, but at least everything else will be back on track. Plus, I am excited to talk about plot details for this movie. (no spoiler review went up earlier today)
Sorry! Padmavati took all my time yesterday, so we missed Monday Malayalam. And now I am doubling up on Tuesday, a no spoilers and a spoilers review, both, for Solo. Because it came out in Malayalam and Tamil, so I have decided it works for both.

No Spoilers review went up last night, and this is a good pleasant enjoyable film, so you shouldn’t necessarily read the spoilers if you haven’t seen it yet. But on the other hand, most of the plot is kind of given in the trailer, so maybe it doesn’t matter as much?
Well, this is sad! One of the great directors has passed away, depriving us of more great films. Although he did give us two all time classics, so I guess I shouldn’t be greedy.
It’s Saturday, no one really wants to think today, right? So, Fanvid time! I did 15 last year, this time I am adding on another 11.
I had a moment of fear that I wouldn’t be able to find a full 27. But nope! I totally could! It wasn’t even hard, because they are all so good.
Well, I have to dip my toe back into the insanity of the Kangana/Hrithik situation, which has just boiled over again (now I am picturing a pot boiling over and my dipping my toe into it). And then, as a reward, I get to talk about SK Films restructuring, which is much more exciting.
My favorite Yashji and Amitji’s film! Not the best one, that I know, but my personal favorite.

Karan, Shahrukh, and other people all tweeted the trailer at the same time late last night. Which is interesting on its own. But also, the trailer is kind of good!
I just thought this would be an interesting experiment, to take a brief look at 28 different films in terms of the romance plots. and then try to come to some conclusions. I did the first 7 already, now let’s look at another 7.
Well, this was a bad week! Overseas, that is. From what I am seeing, the Indian figures are still good. But overseas, we did not like things. Oh, and I’m trying something new, youtube video about all this is embedded in the post, instead of squeezing two posts out of it.
Yesterday I did a “serious” post, best films, so today I get to do another “silly” one! 29 songs of Shahrukh.

What a great experience for my first Mahesh Babu film in theaters! Not a great theater experience exactly (I was alone in there), but a great film to experience on the big screen, and to spend 3 hours of my life totally focused on watching. (No spoilers review here)
Well, now SRK is just exhausting me. I write this whole long thing for his birthday today, and he surprises me with another scene I need to discuss! It’s too much! I know he loves me, but the man has to let me alone sometimes. (full index of JHMS coverage here)
This is considerably longer than it was last year, but we are going to have a string of light posts over the next few days, so I thought I should try to give you something a little more substantive today. And you can all argue with me in the comments about what I left out and what is in the wrong order and so on and so on.
I sense a disturbance in the world of my blog. On one side, I have many many voices crying out in joy at the thought of 31 full days of SRK posts. And then on the other side, I have not quite as many voices crying out in despair. So, here’s the deal. I will continue my Monday and Tuesday reviews. And my Friday Classics. And I’ll throw in news posts and so on. It won’t be all SRK all the time. But all TGIF and Sunday fanfic content will be replaced by SRK focused items. I mean, most of the people who read those are SRKians anyway, right? And every day there will be a special SRK birthday post counting down 31 to 1. Some of them very very silly (as this one will be), and some of them serious (for instance, best performances). If you don’t absolutely hate SRK, at least read the headline topic for the post before deciding not to read it, there will be good content in here.
