Yesterday I did a “serious” post, best films, so today I get to do another “silly” one! 29 songs of Shahrukh.

Wednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking 29 Days Before SRK’s birthday?
Your response does not HAVE to be SRK focused. This is a blog open to followers of all faiths, the SRKians and the non-SRKians. But it also doesn’t have to be NOT SRK focused. Just saying.
Spyder Review (SPOILERS): Closing the Technical Gap
What a great experience for my first Mahesh Babu film in theaters! Not a great theater experience exactly (I was alone in there), but a great film to experience on the big screen, and to spend 3 hours of my life totally focused on watching. (No spoilers review here)
JHMS Deleted Scene! No Words, No Subtitles Needed
Well, now SRK is just exhausting me. I write this whole long thing for his birthday today, and he surprises me with another scene I need to discuss! It’s too much! I know he loves me, but the man has to let me alone sometimes. (full index of JHMS coverage here)
Happy 30 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday! Top 30 Best Films
This is considerably longer than it was last year, but we are going to have a string of light posts over the next few days, so I thought I should try to give you something a little more substantive today. And you can all argue with me in the comments about what I left out and what is in the wrong order and so on and so on.
Happy Shahrukh Birthday Month, Day 1 (of 31)! 31 Gifs for Us All
I sense a disturbance in the world of my blog. On one side, I have many many voices crying out in joy at the thought of 31 full days of SRK posts. And then on the other side, I have not quite as many voices crying out in despair. So, here’s the deal. I will continue my Monday and Tuesday reviews. And my Friday Classics. And I’ll throw in news posts and so on. It won’t be all SRK all the time. But all TGIF and Sunday fanfic content will be replaced by SRK focused items. I mean, most of the people who read those are SRKians anyway, right? And every day there will be a special SRK birthday post counting down 31 to 1. Some of them very very silly (as this one will be), and some of them serious (for instance, best performances). If you don’t absolutely hate SRK, at least read the headline topic for the post before deciding not to read it, there will be good content in here.
News Round-Up: Abhishek-Dutta Mystery Continues, Sonakshi is Happy, RK Studios is Not Happy, DON 3!!!!!!
Yay! For the first time, actually follow-up news stories! I am getting better about this, checking the news at least once a week so I’m not totally out of the loop.
New Youtube Video! SRK Overseas
This is a slightly different version of yesterday’s post on what SRK means to the overseas audience. With a little more about my personal experiences.
Monday Morning Questions Post: How Shall We Celebrate SRK?
Happy Monday! And happy first day of 31 days o’ SRK!!!! Very exciting. For some of you. For the others, don’t get too depressed, all the other regular coverage will continue, just with extra SRK posts in there that you can skip.
Don’t Call It Bollywood House Style
Periodically readers will ask me why I do this or that thing, and rather than offering the same explanation over and over again in comments, I thought I would create a post I can direct you back to any time these questions come up.

Tomorrow is the start of Shahrukh’s birthday month, which means you will have to suffer through 30 Days o’ SRK on this website. But before we get into that, I want to try to explain why he means so much to some of us, why a good half of my blog audience is reacting to the news of 30 Days o’ SRK with silent cheers. At least, what I think it is.
Spyder Review (No SPOILERS): An Action Movie About Human Connections
Well, this was an actual good movie! A no shortcuts, no lack of imagination, no lack of quality, straight up good movie. How refreshing! Something I could see myself going to with my parents, or seeing a second time just on my own. Not flawless, but actually really really good! It’s been awhile since I had that. Certainly better than the movie I saw last night. (Spoiler review for this going up on Tuesday, the usual Tuesday Telugu)
Judwaa 2 Review (SPOILERS): Salman Steals the Film
The mere fact of Salman being in this film isn’t a spoiler, right? That’s been so heavily promoted that you can’t escape it? The exact manner of his appearance has not been promoted, but I’ll tell you that. The rest of the plot, definitely spoilers. Yes, even if you have seen the original. (review of the original Judwaa here and no spoiler review of Judwaa 2 here)
Happy Dussehra!!!
Really is not fair that Dussehra landed the day after Judwaa 2!!! So I am going to be lazy and only put up a few songs. But, to make up for it, temporary new blog header image! Pretty cool, right? (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Judwaa 2 Review: It’s True, They Don’t Make Them Like They Used To!
Well, this was as expected mostly! Enjoyable, fun, all of that. And yet (having just rewatched the original), I found myself thinking “it just doesn’t feel the same”.
Tom Alter Dies, Hindi Cinema Has Lost One of Its Outstanding Actors
Asmita just alerted me in the comments that Tom Alter has passed away. Which immediately brought up his face in my head. He has been in sooooooo many movies. And he did such a good job in them! (If you are interested in seeing a recent performance, he was in M Cream which is now on Netflix)
TGIF: Happy Coffee Day!
Happy Coffee Day! I will not be celebrating, because I never have coffee on Fridays so I can sleep in on Saturday (unless, maybe I can make an exception because I will have to stay up super late for Judwaa tonight? No, better not)
Friday Classics: Queen, The Original Will Always Be the Best
Thanks to all this buzz about the remakes, I thought it would be a good time to stop and reflect on the original. Plus, counter-programming to the very male new releases this week, Spyder and Judwaa 2!
New JHMS Deleted Scene! And New Theory! (both courtesy of Claudia)
This whole post is basically Claudia. She alerted me to the new deleted scene and, a few days back, she sent me a very lengthy detailed analysis that I have been trying to find a good place to post. And so I am putting her video, and her analysis, together with my analysis of the video, and calling it a post. (full Jab Harry Met Sejal coverage index here)
DDLJ Scene By Scene Part 29: The Man in the Kitchen
Welcome back to DDLJ watch! And this is a very very big scene. Not in terms of plot, but in terms of changing how we see our hero. (full index of DDLJ coverage here)
Happy Birthday Lata Mangeshkar!!! Part 3, Reasons 60-88 That I Love You
Watching Wednesday (on Thursday, Sorry Sorry! Very Late): What Are You Watching and Reading and Thinking This Week?
Happy Thursday! I was so excited by the new deleted scene yesterday that I totally forgot to put up my watching post. So here it is today, and hopefully SRK doesn’t distract us again. Which leads to my question for you: what is your story of a movie/movie related thing that distracted you from a real life responsibility?
Happy Birthday Ranbir Kapoor!
Happy Birthday Ranbir! Last year I promised to bump you up from 12 to 34 if Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was good. And it was! But then Jagga Jasoos was bad. So I will average it and bring you up to 23. (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Happy Birthday Lataji! 88 Reasons I Love You, Part 2
Should I have been counting down, 88 to 1? Oh well, too late now, and anyway that would have been confusing. I’ll stick with straight 1 through 88. Or, for this post, 31-60 (first post here)
Happy Birthday Lata Mangashkar! 88 Reasons I Love You, Part 1
Happy birthday Lataji! I felt so guilty last year for celebrating your sister’s birthday, and skipping yours. But not again!
