I’ve got a church thing that’s blowing up a little bit, and I should be calling people and asking them for money for my job, and I also should be working on my Monday Malayalam review, but I don’t want to do any of that! I want to look at pictures of Dog Hazel. And if you feel the same way, this is the post for you. Or, you can go look at the last post and comment over there. The point is, I need procrastination buddies!

Trailers! Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, and Genius and Nawabzaade Songs
Trailer time! All of this are old and late, but I don’t care, I still want to hear what you have to say about them.
Monday Morning Questions: Anything You Want to Ask Me, About Sonu Nigam or Otherwise
Happy Monday! Now is the point in the summer when I start to think “oh thank goodness, a weekend when I DON’T have to go outside and have fun”. Which is next weekend. Except that I am also doing the church service, so actually I’ve got about 6 hours already gone. Sigh.
Happy Birthday Sonu Nigam! 30 Songs to Show I Love You!
How is this the first time I remembered to celebrate Sonu’s birthday? Oh well, to make up for it, I will do 30 songs, to match his birth date of July 30th.
Silly Sunday: Happy Birthday Sanjay, Here is My Best Sanjay FanFic EVER
Sorry sorry sorry! Yesterday just completely wiped me out (22 guests is too many guests, especially when one of them has severe dementia and 4 of them are small children). So I literally have not left my bed all day, and every time I try to think straight and come up with a brilliant fanfic, it all just sort of floats away from me. So I am doing a reprint and failing you, my faithful readers. Oh well, at least it is a really good reprint, based on Daboo Ratnani photos and Sanjay Dutt and his dog. Continue reading
Saturday Small Talk: What Are We All Thinking About Today?
Need a break from weekend fun? Have stuff that can’t wait for Monday to talk about? This is the place!
TGIF: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow, Who Has the Best Hair?
I did eyes last week, and now I guess I am just moving up on the body? Seems like maybe it would make more sense to move down, but I have far stronger opinions about hair than I do about noses.
Stop the Presses: Priyanka Out of Bharat!!!!! And Also Engaged
One of these things has a much greater effect on my life than the other. Totally throws my Bharat plans for a loop, and probably throws everyone’s Bharat plans for a loop. Including the Bharat team.
Friday Classics: Balu Mahi, A Woman Riding Ahead of Her Man
What a ridiculous over the top super fun movie! It’s not clever, not like Teefa was. But it’s the same kind of “oh why not?” attitude towards plot and songs and everything else. Makes me excited to see what Pakistani films come up with next.
Teefa in Trouble Review (SPOILERS): A Film With No Stakes, Just Fun
Don’t read the SPOILER review! Not if you have a chance of seeing the movie. There are a lot of delightful twists that are all the more fun for being surprises. Instead, read the no spoiler review here. Oh, and if you want to talk about Ali Zafar as a person, you can do that on my special post on him here.
New YouTube Video! Box Office Post
Just throwing this up here so I have something ready to go while I am working on other longer posts. You can watch it if you want to see me talk, but there’s no new information. Or new Dog Hazel.
Teefa in Trouble Review (No Spoilers): A Wonderful Cartoon Playbox for Ali Zafar to Play in and Invite the Audience Along
First, if you want to talk about Ali’s personal issues, jump over to this post. I put it up specially so I could segregate Ali-the-person discussion from Ali-the-actor/director/producer. Separate from that, read this review and not the SPOILER review if you can’t see the movie! It’s a great film with a lot of surprising twists and deserves to be watched with fresh eyes.
Trailers! Some Old, Some Very Old, and One New
I know I know, lots of little posts today and only one substantive one. Sorry! Some days are just like that. But at least it gives me a chance to catch up on trailers.
Silly Sunday Voting Post: What Book/Film Should My Imagination Remake Next?
I am very pleased with this week’s post, but it didn’t get many viewers, and maybe that is because it was a totally new story? People do tend to like remakes and sequels. It’s why we got Dhadak, after all. So I need suggestions of what to remake or rewrite or write a sequel for!
News Round-Up: Alia-Ranbir Marriage Rumors, Sacred Games Makes it to the Indian Press for One Reason, Bharat Sounds…Confused
Monday Monday, news news. Nothing really exciting, like a contract dispute or something, but still some things for us to chew over.
Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me This Week?
Happy Monday! I slept and slept and slept, and now I am back at work all bright-eyed and bushy tailed. And ready for questions!
Happy Birthday Himesh Reshamiyya
Today he is 45, so I get to put up all my favorite songs and reasons I love him! 25 in all, for the age he was when he wrote his first hit song. (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Sunday Night Report: I’m Too Tired to Do A Real Post
This was a looooooooooong weekend. I managed to find the energy to do my usual Sunday post, and I am quite proud of this week’s story (read it here!), but now I am too tired to think of anything new and thought provoking to write. So I am watching a fun Telugu movie and watching Dog Hazel sleep, because she is tired too.
Silly Sunday: Rain Themed Movies, Bride and Bandit and Old Loves Reigniting the Spark
Rainy rainy rainy here. And, I assume, rainy rainy rainy there too. So heck, I’m gonna do rain stories. And rain makes me feel arty, so they will all be reflective little art movies.
News Round-Up: Imraan Has a New “Job”, Disha Patani is Folded into ANOTHER Priyanka Story, Kangana’s Manikarnika Sounds Like a Disaster
I have 20 minutes before the kids get here, so I am going to write a news report post real quick, and then dig a croquet set out of the attic so they can hit each other with mallets. Or possibly actually play croquet, but that seems unlikely.
Saturday Small Talk: 6 Kids and a Rainy Day, Wish Me Luck!
Happy Saturday! This message comes to you from our vacation home, again. I am here for a very exhausting and also (hopefully) fun weekend!
TGIF: The Eyes Have It! Best Eyes in Indian Film in 5 Categories
Suggestion courtesy of Meenakshy, I’m gonna do best eyes in Indian film. In multiple categories, because you can’t really compare, like, Madhuri versus young Salman.
News Round-Up: Priyanka Plays PR, Anubhav Sinha is my Hero, Abbas-Mustan Go Korean, BH Fails in Both Ethics and Accuracy, and Madhavan Plays a Santa Scientist
I don’t know if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today or what, but the way BollywoodHungama is so shamelessly acting as a PR machine is really bugging me today. So I’m gonna report their “stories” but I also can’t help but call out their shame.
Mangal Panday’s Birth Anniversary, A Day to Look Back at 1857
I put up this post originally on the anniversary of his first act of rebellion, but it didn’t get many views, so I am putting it up again on the anniversary of his birth. Because Mangal Panday is important! And so is 1857. And we should remember both of them.
Happy Birthday Sukhwinder Singh! 15 Songs to Show I Love You
There is another big birthday today, but I am following a “if you can’t say anything nice” policy and ignoring it. But that means Sukhwinder gets a day all to himself! And he deserves it, he has worked very hard for a very long time.
