It’s Christmas Eve! I’m so excited! Church service in the evening, then the family is coming back to my place for Christmas Eve night. Very complicated sleeping arrangements. But I am taking a momentary break from all of that to award the second to last Christmas Giveaway winner!

I totally forgot I wrote this post, and then some nice Cyrillic using reader posted a link to it on a message board which reminded me of it. And it’s brilliant! I agree with everything I said! And Star Wars is back in the news, so I might as well put it up again for us all to appreciate and discuss.
I’m going to try to be better about putting out news posts for these smaller stories just so you can discuss them. Although also, REMINDER, you can always mention these stories or post links to them in the Wednesday Watching post. That’s what it is there for! Even if it’s not Wednesday. Just like you can always ask me any questions on Monday Morning Questions, even if it’s not Monday.
This is one of those “I’m not a news source and can’t report the actual facts, but I can give interesting discussion around them” kind of posts. I don’t know who’s in or out of the film right now, not for sure. I don’t know the details of the filming schedule or anything like that. But I can delve a little deeper into what has been reported.
I don’t mean photos of sandwiches (that would be this TGIF), but rather photos of 3 people in which they make a kind of sandwich image. Should make a nice change from the one-shot images I usually use.
I was going to do a “100 years of history in 10” list, and then I realized there AREN’T actually 10 jodis of equal level. So I am just going to introduce you to the really really big ones and without worrying about how many I include or putting them in order or anything.

Happy Dharmendra’s birthday (again). To celebrate we are going to have a bit of a rigged contest, Dharam against all comers. But obviously, Dharam will win. Partly because it is his birthday and I want to be nice, and partly because he just is the best.

I know it seems like I’ve done way too many Shashi posts, but he is the only news right now, the biggest news right now. Because in the Hindi film fraternity, a death like this has an impact beyond just grief, there is a process to it that dominates everything for a few days.

Mostly I wanted to do a video to play with my new toy, moviemavengal gave me a lapel mic as an early Christmas present. I think it works pretty well! The video is too sunny and my head isn’t exactly centered, but by golly the microphone is perfect!
Happy first Sunday of Advent! Naturally, I had to do a Christmas themed post (to match my Christmas themed TGIF post). I briefly considered doing unmarried mothers in honor of Mary, but then I decided to think small instead and use the random small items of Christmas as jumping off points for story ideas.

Happy Friday! My goodness this has been a frustrating day. The second I get in to anything at work the phone rings and I have to stop. Whether it is blogging or sending an email or doing accounting stuff for work-work, I just don’t have long enough to be able to focus on it. My last review last week, that was the version I wrote for grad school, all about what it means for star studies and the higher level of meaning and blah de blah de blah. But I found the need to write a second review after talking with you in the comments, that is more in my blog style.
